Oriel using FTSE4Good

Posted on 09/06/05 by admin

Oriel have adopted the FTSE4Good index, and have instructed their fund managers to only invest in companies contained in the FTSE4Good lists.

This has resulted in divestment from 2 tobacco companies and 1 extraction firm.

A fourth company is currently being investigated - on the basis that its non-inclusion in the list appears to be the product of non-completion of paperwork, rather than any particular ethical concern about its activities.

Whilst the FTSE4Good is only a very light green index, still including some Arms Companies, pharmacuticals and others - this is a positive step from Oriel.

Updates will be fed back to the JCR at their next meeting to see what further action the JCR want to explore.
