Vice Chancellor Responds to Accusations of Ignoring SRI Paper to Council

University Vice-Chancellor John Hood today clarified his understanding of the failure of the SRI Paper to appear on Monday’s University Council Agenda (M 5th Wk HT06).

He stated that Council had agreed to accept the SRI paper – but that it had also been agreed with student representatives that the Investments Management Review written by Alan Budd would be discussed prior to consideration of the SRI paper. Given the Investments Management Review was placed on the agenda of Monday’s meeting, and that he wished to be able to take any necessary follow up action from the Council discussion, he had proposed that the SRI paper would be discussed at the first Council meeting of Trinity term. As such, student belief that the SRI paper was due to be discussed in this Monday’s Council meeting was the product of miscommunication.
