Results of this term's efforts

We have approached several members of Governing Body asking that they sign a letter to Dr Boyce in support of our campaign aims.

There has been general reluctance to do so. Even sympathetic members have said that it would provoke more antagonism than positive outcomes because it is not the way college business is conducted. Unfortunately college business is conducted in such a manner as to maintain as much secrecy regarding investments as possible.

Our freedom of information application was discussed at Finance Committee and at Governing Body. Dr Boyce has refused to disclose the minutes of this meeting, however has stated that the resolution of the meeting was to seek legal advice on what they would be obliged to disclose.

The upshot of this is that our freedom of information application has simply received a copy of the college's unspecific published accounts in reply.

Given that this information is always accessible, it seems unreasonable that they should require 20 days to come up with it. Stalling tactics appear to be very much the order of the day.

I will upload a copy of their reply over the next few days.
