New Social Action Forum

Edited version of an e-mail sent to interested parties 14/11/04:

There are many opportunities for us to get involved in working for a more ethically and environmentally aware college and University - and there are many people in Oriel passionate about realising these goals. That is why I'm proposing the idea of an Oriel Social Action Forum, where members of Oriel college, JCR, MCR & even SCR can meet together to share ideas on the social action we can take together, and to take forward action on ethics, the environment charity and the community around Oriel.

I would anticipate the Forum meeting informally every fortnight, and operating mainly through a mailing list, on which participants can share ideas and actions.

Thus:

1. If you are interested in becoming part of that Social Action Forum, please take 30 seconds to visit

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/orielaction/subscribe and join the discussion mailing list on which all future information will be sent out.

I know time is very precious for Oxford Students - but action in other colleges across Oxford is showing that real positive change can be brought about with just a few hours commitment when groups work together

- so please please do take the chance to find out more about being involved.

Best wishes

Tim Davies
